The other class I'm currently taking is Human Resource Management and Supervision. Interesting look into the personnel side of administration. Tonight we had several questions regarding motivation. The book discusses a few theories of "why" teachers work hard.
Do teachers work just to get paid? Are they motivated by incentives, rewards, or recognition?? What do you guys think? Why do the teachers you know work hard... are there any forms of motivation you've seen in your school?

College Signing
We are having our first college signing day of the year here at HC!! Check out the signing LIVE at 2:45 EST on www.ihigh.com/henryclay. My shortstop, Corey Bays, will be signing with Murray State University as well as two volleyball players (who reached the final four this year!!) and a swimmer who is a two-time state champion and All-American is signing with Ohio State. A proud moment for us here at Henry Clay!!

My First Blog!!
We had a math department meeting after school yesterday... spent a LONG time discussing the new math standards. It's going to be a crazy transistion, all of our teachers dread it! They are changing what is learned at what age, so Algebra 2 topics are being moved to Algebra 1 and Algebra 1 topics are being moved to middle school... we'll see how it goes!
After the meeting, went to my chiropractor appt, then the gym, then night class... taking two classes each eight weeks is a lot of work!
Tonight's class was my Instructional Technology class... learning about using technology in the classroom and how we can use it as an Administrator. I am learning a ton of new websites and software items... a lot of stuff I can put to use! Also some interesting discussion from Dr. Bynoe regarding the political approval of NCLB and the result of 9/11... ever thought about how 9/11 related to George W's approval rating and the acceptance of NCLB? I hadn't until tonight...
Talked about Infinite Campus tonight... what are your likes/dislikes of IC??
